This year’s Private Equity Diamond Awards, sponsored by the Executive Club and the Polish Private Equity Association, saw Bill Watson awarded the “Personality of the Year” jointly with Robert Manz of Enterprise Investors.

MedLife, Romania’s largest private medical services provider, opened a hyper-clinic in Iasi, northeastern Romania, its eleventh in the country, following a EUR1.1 million investment, the company said in a statement.

Private healthcare operator MedLife recently bought two new laboratories in Iasi and Constanta. The company also opened two new health centers in Iasi and Galati earlier this year and plans to open two other centers by the end of 2014. The expansion strategy is due to continue in 2015.

Romanian private healthcare operator MedLife ended the first six months of the year with turnover of EUR 38.3 million, up 12% year-to-year, higher than the overall private medical services market increase of 8-9%.

home.pl, a portfolio company of Value4Capital, acquired a majority stake in AZ.pl, one of its principal competitors in the domains registration and hosting market in Poland.

Representing the Mid-Market Platform Council, Bill Watson will join EVCA’s Professional Standards Committee. The Committee, reporting to the EVCA Board, is responsible for issue of professional standards and conduct including the EVCA Code of Conduct and Handbook of Professional Standards.
